Douglas Fowles (Doug) – Project Development & Consultant
Doug has been in the real estate development industry for over 40 years. He has held senior positions with Scott’s Reit, S.B. Maclaughlin Associates Limited, Mascan Corporation, Roshorn Limited, Kalmar Realty Limited, Henge Development Inc. and currently holds the position as President and CEO of Ochiltree Management Inc.
Doug has extensive experience in all aspects of the development industry across Canada which includes site selection, planning, budgeting, financing, leasing, construction, and property management. The breadth of experience includes retail, commercial, industrial/employment and residential. Some examples are Square One Shopping Centre, 9 office buildings in Mississauga, Le Centre Sheraton Hotel in Montreal, the Marina Del Ray Condominium apartment project, the development of the TD office project at Eglinton and Creekside Drive in Mississauga, the re-zoning of the Wayne Gretzky restaurant site from office commercial to a 40 storey condominium apartment building and several industrial subdivisions. He is also knowledgeable of forming Limited Partnerships, REITS -Public Companies, Joint Ventures, and Recreational facilities.
Doug has served as a member on the Board of Advisors to the Minister of Transport for transfer of Airports to LAAs. As a volunteer in Mississauga since the early 1970s, he served as Director of Mississauga Board of Trade, Trillium Health Centre building and facilities subcommittee, Living Arts Centre board of directors, Living Arts Centre Foundation, Mississauga Opera Company, and the Mayor’s Golf Tournament committee. He also coached the Mississauga minor hockey, foot and soccer league, and feels a lot of people don’t understand how much of a time commitment is required from coaches.
Doug is the Director and Treasurer for Hazel McCallion Foundation for the Arts, Culture, and Heritage, and Director and Treasurer of Mississauga Legends Row. He has been named the 2018 Mississauga Citizen of the Year and received the Gordon S. Shipp Memorial Award May 2018. He also received the Rotary International Paul Harris Award, Ontario Volunteer Service Award and Mississauga Certificate of Recognition 25 years.
Doug brings decades of expertise to the team and presently serves as Development Consultant and Project Manager of CMFG.
